COMMISSIONED WORKS

The commissioning of new works of music has been a primary focus during the Nordic Journey project. In order to be a part of a living tradition, Jim has made it a priority to seek outstanding artists and to integrate their creations within the scope of his various recording and performance projects. It is this juxtaposition of new music, the discovery of forgotten and/or unknown works, and the sharing of more established repertoire that has provided the foundation of the ongoing Nordic endeavor. While most compositions from this list have already been performed, recorded, and eventually published under his direction, the work is not completed until all of this commissioned music has achieved a similar status.
